POS Bama couple hangs puppy from ceiling, put pics on FB,hilarity does not ensue

What on earth could make someone think this was a good idea???

FYI, this article redacted the photos but they are available via a quick search. In case you were wondering, they didn't kill the puppy.
Oh and her Facebook (minus that picture) is still out there...

"What their motivation was, we don't know at this point. It's still under investigation. It was just very callous to have it posted on Facebook. I guess they thought it was a joke or something to hang a poor little dog."
Dallas County investigators were tipped off about the Facebook post and launched an investigation into the puppy's owners. Caroline Dunnam, 26, and Andrew Parrish, 23, turned themselves in on January 10th for animal cruelty.

Animal control removed the dog from the dangerous environment, and if no one adopts it in 60 days it will be put down.
