Any advice on how to handle people trying to sell MLM , Vi/amway stuff
Posted by lsuallsportsfan on 1/13/14 at 4:10 pm00
Have yet to see a single person make any $$$ on herbalife, Vi, YBR, etc etc....I can say "no" but how do you convince someone (my worthless 29 year old brother in law) that he needs to get a job and stop trying to get rich quick, especially off these scams...He is on his 6th pyriamid scheme in three years and am sick of hearing his bs... and have any of you ever heard of anyone making money of this cr&p other than the top few? am I wrong in viewing these things as cults? And if you have made it with one of these groups, good for you,

Laugh in their face and tell them how stupid they were for falling for the bull shite they are telling you.
Shaming them is the only way to stop repeat offenders.

Paging Coco311.
The answer is you can't and if you do try, you'll just drive a wedge between you and your family. Stats show that 99% of the people that invest in these scams lose lots of money, so basically you just need to be there for them when they fail. Sorry you're having to deal with this.

Thanks, and I think you make a great point, but he is driving the wedge because some of the family supports him, but I have tried showing him facts...but it's always the new one is "IT". I have to say these companies do teach "them" how to ignore facts and view any thing you say as "haters" , it gets pretty nasty when you challenge them. I spoke with one of his "sponsors" a few months ago and the guy just got loud and angry with me..

Some people, you just have to be an arse to. They won't take a polite "no thanks," for an answer.

They all get defensive quickly. How many of the things he's sold has cured everything from cancer to dandruff to lazy eye?

ask them how many people they have signed up, and ask them for a copy of their most recent check.
And then its Crickets.

"Hey man, I'm really flattered you'd let me on your deal! Sounds like it's gonna work out great for you.
Funny thing is, as excited as you are about XXX, I feel the same way about my biz, so I'm gonna keep putting 100% into it.
Hey, keep up to date how it's going!"

99% losing money is a staggering statistic.

I have a chick i went to high school with, who i guess has been getting some heat on FB over her LIMU shite
She gets all upset and vents and starts defending her decisions....."I can do what I want with my life!!!! Just because i have found a 'different' path to success doesn't make me any less than you!!!"
i love it

They are no different than people who get sucked into Scientology IMO.

My aunt, uncle and cousins have been trying all these for about 15 years now and they don't seem to be any better off than they were before they got involved. Every time they drop one get rich quick scheme and start another one, they ensure me this will be the one that takes them to the top. It's funny and sad at the same time.

These people are sheep. No direction in life looking to be led.
These very same people can be found at Healing Place church and Bethany World prayer centers on Wednesdays and Sundays.
