Anyone else remember being shocked when Kevin Faulk announced his return after Faneca declared to leave early?

I'm sure Faulk could have easily left early also. Anyone recall the scoop on what swayed Faulk to stay? Tradition? Records? Degree?

He told his mom he would graduate. He had a little kid at the time too, which is why we all thought he would leave.

I think losing Faneca killed any chance we had at a championship that year. Really wanted a better year for Booger, Faulk and company.

but I also recount a story about CC's recruitment, and don't know if fact or fiction. the story goes that when CC was being recruited he was asked why in the world would he go to LSU when they already had Faulk and Mealey (and Kendall Cleveland). CC's reponse: "I'm better than all of them!"

Sad story that we will never know if he really was the best...
