With Christie's chances of being a viable presidential candidate slipping by the day, who is the most likely GOP candidate for the office of the presidency in 2016?

On the other side, is Hillary a foregone conclusion to be the democrat party nominee in 2016 or will some other candidate emerge and unseat her? Moreover, will Hillary receive the backing of Obama in her run to the WH?

The RINO's will draft Jeb Bush.

No and don't I know who will be the Democrat nominee.

Obama will back whomever the Democrat nominee is.

While this is true, I wonder whom he will back in the primary...Joe F'n Big Deal Biden, Hillary, maybe even Cory Booker?

Hopefully not Hillary. That'll be 4 elections in a row where I had to vote 3rd party.

I don't see anyone emerging for either party right now. I just don't think Hillary will run for some reason. No way they put Biden in there, as he has been Obama's life insurance since he took office. The democratic party would be non-existent by 2020 if they put Biden out there to sink the ship.

That's not a bad thing really. We need a third party to stir things up.

It's far too early to pick a candidate.

I would say this though, every cycle there's a Christie candidate. The papers love an outsider on a mission - they pick one and run with it. The honeymoon usually ends right before the first primary when the polling data is too much to ignore.

Structurally impossible, first past the poll will always result in a two party system.

Hillary is one tired old horse. Everybody thinks she looks like a winner now, but I predict that she will crash and burn if she runs. She has more experience than Obama had (who doesn't), but where are the accomplishments.

The GOP needs to nominate a true conservative. McCain and Romney were moderate nominees. Did they win? We don't need a Democrat Light candidate.

Maybe so, but the establishment Dems and Reps really need to hear from voters who think for themselves instead of just running in to pull the lever for their "team".

of course voting 3rd party is a vote for the Dems, according to some on here.

It is, effectively.

Your best bet is applying pressure during the primary process, or through interests groups once your legislator is elected.

He bet someone a tube of cookies that he would not run in 2016 on twitter recently.

I still think he will run and likely win. He is Obama without baggage. Moreover, he is single and the celebrity obsessed media would love nothing more than constant reports on his love life.

Too early. Would not be surprised if Elizabeth Warren ends up being the Dem nominee though.

On the right, I think Scott Walker and Rubio are ones to watch.

The Bachmanns and the Santorums need to stay out of the way. Competent Republicans are needed.

I think if Christie is out of the picture, then Rand has a better shot at the nomination.

Him and Christie are the only 2 that have been front and center in the GOP nomination talks. Everyone else has been largely irrelevant
