Coming into the season didn't posters here believe he was going to use the tight ends and running backs a lot in the passing game? I was surprised to see the ball thrown to the outside so much with OBJ and Juice. I'm not saying what he did this year didn't work, in fact it was amazing. OBJ and Juice deserved to have the ball in their hands every play. Just wanted to know why it wasn't spread around more.

Because we had the two best recievers in the country outside.

Because OBJ and Juice are NFL talent receivers. TE's currently are not.

Does this shite have to be brought up every day?

If you had 2 wide outs that could both accumulate over 1,000 receiving in one year despite being double covered at times and being guarded by the other teams best DBs, wouldn't you try to utilize them as much as possible in your game plan?

We were not strong with pass blocking. The t.e's had to help with the pass rush. Teams knew mett can't run, they would bring a lot of pressure during passing downs. That is where a mobile qb really helps. keeps the defense honest.

Mett also didn't see the t.e. on a number of occassions. he could have had at least 3 more t.d.'s and 125 yards passing if he would have seen and thrown to the wide open t.e. in the middle of the field.

I think it's pretty obvious....Miles handcuffed him and took over playcalling

tried to run screens...couldn't execute

TE's still have trouble catching the ball.

Cam's hands were tied, at least this year, on both of those fronts (not by Miles)

Absolutely. A lot of the plays seemed designed. And because of Metts fantastic arm and the skill level of the two receivers it worked out. I was so used to the mediocre passing game the past couple of years that anytime the ball was thrown I was nervous, but thankfully it worked out

With Smith and Washington, the TE will see more opportunities in the next few years. Same with Fournette, his hands will bring more passes to the RB. Also, with a young QB, whoever the starter might be, the TE/RB are your best friends.

I'm looking forward to Jacory playing. Kid is going to be a nightmare for linebackers. Fournette has great hands as well, but we struggled all year setting up the rb screen. That has to be fixed in order to utilize fournettes potential.

if looked at it objectively there's a significant point here...

Cam saw where the most talent/ability was, and adjusted HIS game to that. That is something necessary and welcome in a CFB coach. Failure to make those adjustments to the "system" is why some NFL coaches fail in CFB.

Happy to see Cam is flexible enough to make the best use of LSU's great talent.

Because the vast majority of the year teams played close to the line of scrimmage to challenge our rushing attack which took away throws to backs in the flats other than the fullbacks and left a crowded middle of the field in which it was difficult for a tight end to work. So Coach Cameron decided to open up one of the most prolific passing attacks the school had ever seen which got 2K of yards in production from the wide receivers which were the beneficiaries of that type of defensive style.
