Sitting at the zoo watching this nice fellow with his kid. Cig hanging out his mouth and beer in hand as he says in a country hick accent to his son " boy imabout to whip your arse".
Affliction shirt with a John Deer hat.

You act like the 2 are mutually exclusive.

Both. They're trashy rednecks. You can be trashy without being a redneck, but it's far more rare to see a non-trashy redneck, it is possible though.

I think all rednecks are trashy. Country boys that are not trashy I refer to as good ol' boys. Just good simple country folk. Nothing wrong with good ol' boys.

This!
Rednecks = country white trash.
Country folk = good decent people from the country

i was at the Audubon Zoo this morning and was amazed at the amount of people walking around with beers in hand. Not hiding them (doesn't seem like you have to hide them anyways). Not all were trashy / rednecks though , some regular looking people just strolling around with a beer in hand.

I can't tell you how many times I took my son to the zoo from age 2-7. Can't think of one time I didn't drink a few beers.

Did you ever have enough to antagonize the monkeys into throwing shite at you?

No.. If the zoo is open they are pouring. Just like Carrollton Boosters Little League. 8:00am baseball game and they are selling beer.

That's just trash.
Drinking beer and smoking at place where families and young kids are trashy.

Yep. I had two beers today myself. All but maybe two or three people I saw with a beer looked pretty normal.
Normal people know how to have a few drinks and relax without ever thinking of causing any problems

Exactly. It really is just a part of the fabric of the city. Kids birthday parties, little league.. hell any event there is alcohol served or for sale.

Sounds like he's from Lafayette.
