Taxidermy recommendations for ducks

Just shot my first wood duck, a very pretty drake, and I want to get him mounted. Checked with a local place here in Hammond and he told me $325 and 12 months. That's too much and too long for me so I figured I'd ask the OB who their go to guys were. Here's an obligatory pic of the duck:

Most places you're going to have to wait. I'm about to send a teal off and it's gonna be a year.

Try jack Pierno of beauty of nature waterfowl taxidermy of Pearl river, he did two for me last year. 160$ a bird and about 2 months turnaround he may have went up but he does great work! Chdck out his Facebook for info

I know a wait period always comes with getting a mount. But a year for a duck? Foolish.

That's where I'm sending my teal

Not to be a dick, but there's an obvious drop off in quality there.

I just got one back that took almost a year. Bad thing is I'm not really happy with it.

Who did it? I'm sending mine to birdman. He's by far the best I've seen.
The way I see it, it should last a lifetime so if it costs me an extra $150, it's worth it.

A guy on denham springs in plantation estates. I've seen a lot of great work from him. It was a blue wing teal and one of my dogs first duck. Would have liked it to come out a little better. Whodat514 actually killed it. I got a woody I think I'm probably gone bring to guy Adams in ds. It's a fine woody and I'll be pissed if not happy with it.

Many years ago, I used to use a guy by the name of Joe Coombs(sp?)... We had a camp on Bayou Dupre at the end of the dikes canal coming from Bienvenue...I had probably 9 or 10 nice mounts...some banded...never locked the place...EVER... then one day they all up and disappeared...haven't had a duck mounted since...makes me sick thinking about it...I HATE a thief...

I've been wanting to mount a wood duck for a while. Just need to kill a drake that's pretty enough.
Sending a green wing to birdman.

Damn man.
I know...lots of good memories with them birds and hunting with my dad(who has since passed)...I truly believe had I found the thieves at the time, I would be serving time in Angola...maybe it's better that I didn't...

Billy Ollie who ya went to?
Yeah. Had some nice mounts in the shop, but at $325 and 12mo. turnaround I'll pass.
