Hey y'all with a Barclay's Arrival card. You should really do the "Travel Forum." Real easy to post a story and get points. 5 minutes is worth about 160 points or spending $80. If people give you "Kudos" you can earn more.

Perhaps we should go around kudoing each other's posts like they do on Reddit?

I signed up for that a few months ago but haven't checked it since. Did the new minimum to get the points.

I knew you had one so I was hoping you'd come along. Seems pretty fool proof.

Some guys apparently just write "stories" about wherever and just pull a picture off the internet

Staples GC Update: Looks like Staples won't be on Visa Savings Edge starting 1/1/2015.

Still some value there but those GCs will go back to 6.95 from 4.88 apparently

I forgot about this. How are you unloading these? I'll unload some via Evolve I suppose.

Amex Serve I had to send them a picture of my ID and CC to get approval to use my CC.

Evolve and I returned to Walmart and it worked flawlessly. So as long as it doesn't go the route of OneVanilla Visa GCs that is the way to go. I got to do about $5k worth so I shouldn't be at it long. Have $1,600 on the way now.

Since Evolve put in the one payment thing, my car is paid some 4 or 5 months in advance as it will eventually catch up with me only able to send a $200 payment each month.

You'll have to do this any time you change that CC as well, but not that big of a deal I suppose.

Ya, link it once you make your community profile.

My first story points posted pretty quickly, however I'm not sure if my followup ones have yet. There's no log to track that it seems, which I don't like.

Can anyone help me understand Delta's MQS's?

BHM to ATL
ATL to HOU

Is this two segments or one? So a round trip would be four?

Bacon is the Delta guy but every airline I've ever known treats a segment as a takeoff and landing. So that is 2 segments and you would have 4 rountrip.

hahaha. That's funny. I bought 3 just to experiment. Are these pin enabled? I can't remember.

I have Family Dollars all around me, so I'll give it a whirl there. Hate me some Wally World. Well mainly just the couple I have around me are miserable for customer service.

Good deal. I'll look in to this Friday when I don't feel like working for an extended period of time.

Really hoping Red Bird comes to Louisiana before they nix the CC loads, which I'm sure they will sooner than later. My wife will think it's odd that I'm now accompanying her on grocery store runs.

The last 4 numbers on the card are the PIN.

Probably will just steer clear of these in New Orleans They have a pretty low register velocity though (I believe), but $400 at a time shouldn't be a problem.

Ya, I have my doubts that feature sticks. I'm also tired of switching products. Wish they'd just let me have more than 1.

Gotcha. Just read that.

They actually have some in decent areas in the BR area.

Me too. I cancelled my wife's bluebird the first of the month, so I'm up debating if it's worth it to wait for the Red Bird or just get her a Serve. I'm not switching from serve as long as it allows the online CC loads.

What you have listed above would be 2 segments.

BHM-ATL 1
ATL-HOU 1
Hypothetical: HOU-BHM 1

It would be 3 in this scenario.

What is the best way to buy the reloadable cards and loading them onto something like Serve? Best places to buy/cards to use

Question for the group:

I have two cards currently: one is a Barclay's Card with no annual fee ($5,000 limit). It's reward structure is very basic but free. I have had it since 2012.

My other card is the Delta AMEX Platinum (6,000 limit), which has the companion voucher, but I really don't want to pay the $200 annual fee, which was just increased from $149. They could not downgrade me to a card without an annual fee either. How badly would it affect my score if I a) closed this account, and b) opened a new CC account to get my available credit back up?

Thanks

The chase ink cards are the best for buying gift cards at office supply and really the only travel card I feel is worth doing MS on off the top of my head.

Buying them via Staples online is pretty easy as they are delivered to your door.

When is the annual fee due? Are you looking to take out an installment loan in the near future(<1yr)? Credit score >700?

If I was you, I'd pick and apply for a rewards card that suited my spending habits, then cancel the delta amex. It's not a good rewards earning card, unless you fly delta often. For most people with average or better credit, canceling a card and opening a new line will have minimal affects.

Just as an update to a previous question of mine concerning the frequency of 100,000 point Amex Platinum offers, I just got another in the mail. If my memory serves me, my last one was set to expire some time late this month, so they likely shot another off as soon as it expired. Hopefully they continue this needy behavior until I'm ready to pull the trigger
