Gunning for the 60k/70k offer this year. That said, if they don't push it out in the next month, I'm going to have to decide whether to let my Ink Bold lapse and just not have a premium card, or just take the 50k offer.

Do you have the Freedom?

Currently have a Freedom, Sapphire (downgraded from CSP after the first year), and Ink Bold (year ends in mid May).

My plan has always been to get the Ink Plus and close the Bold (since it can't be downgraded) and to keep the Plus as my permanent "premium" card. It's just a question of whether I force the issue so I don't have any lapse, or risk going a few months without a card with transfer partners.

Gotcha. Well as long as you have the Freedom you can continue to store UR points until you get a premium card. I wouldn't worry about not having a premium card if you're not on the cusp of booking anything since they usually only take a couple weeks to come in.

I suppose that's fair. I guess in my mind it was just going to be an easier conversation with Chase in applying for the Plus while my bold was still active (I want to be able to carry a balance if I need wink wink, nudge, nudge) and then cancel the Bold (my two cards are basically the same, no need to pay the yearly fee on both) as opposed to just cancelling the Bold outright and then coming bank and asking for the Ink. Chase has been pretty good to me, so I try not to come off as too much of a dick

How sweet are these current American Airlines bonuses right now?

I just hit both AA cards for 100k miles. Business class round trip anywhere in the world.

They are excellent but Citi killed churning the Exec card. It's now on an 18 month cycle. It looks like I'll be getting the AA Business card for 50k and United Business card for 50k when I decide to do another app or two.

I shouldn't complain. At this point I can fly two people pretty much anywhere in the world multiple times with all the miles I have stashed.

It was 100k for the exec card alone this time last year. When is a 50% reduction great?

I suppose if you couldn't hit 10k spending for 100k miles, 1/3 spending for 1/2 points isn't a bad deal

I haven't hit that card. The two cards I hit are at their all time high.

Has then been posted?

I'm beginning to plan 2016. Thinking about a photo safari but the only thing my rewards will get me is the round trip flight there and back which isn't inconsequential.

It's just turned into a silly hobby at this point.

I've got about 250k Delta miles
Soon to have 100k american miles
I've got 150k southwest miles

and 150k chase sapphire points.

I'm trying to figure out which direction to go next. I've still got a few southwest cards i can hit but ive got more than i can use right now.

That's easily over $100K spent on cards. How did you do it?

I buy all of my materials for jobs on my cards and pay it off every month. Back when I was building a lot I would easily get $30K per month worth of points on my AMEX platinum.

I couldn't hit those numbers without my work expenses but the majority is hitting the bonus on the cards.

See the link I posted above. Hit the bonus, cancel/convert to a no fee card and hit the next one.

It gets pretty addicting.

If you spend 5k per month on work stuff you could easily replicate what I've done.

Since you're married, you can do twice the damage. Seriously there is no reason why you and your wife shouldn't be flying business class anywhere in the world you want for free.

I try and explain to my friends till I am blue in the face about how I can afford all my vacations and I get "BUT THE INTEREST RATE!" or "MY CREDIT SCORE?!"

These are guys who won't even be buying a house anytime soon. But I digress...

Use free flights, cheap hostels or free rooms from points and travel is stupid cheap. I did SE Asia last year and spent less than 1k for 2 weeks. That included food, zip lining and other tourist shite. Flew business class the whole way there and back with my own bed.
