Dumb IMO. I get not letting them play, but let them stay on the sideline if they want to. They're grown men that ultimately should be making their own decisions.

With so many former players suing the league, the league's hand is really being forced into creating these "protocol". These "grown men" as you call them made their own decision to play NFL football and now are coming back looking for more money from the league.

Bakhtiari did actually go back in for a extra point attempt. I read that he essentially forced his way back onto the field. But Lewis only violated it by being on the sidelines instead of in a quiet place.

Looking back with the NFL's protocol in mind, it reminds me of the Mike Leach/Adam James trouble at Texas Tech. Except that Leach followed the protocol (in his own way).

This is a confusing issue. One could argue they aren't of sound mind at that time to make that decision.

Is crazy that Leach was doing the best thing you can do. Made him get in a quiet dark place

Don't know why the NFL is so scared of lawsuits. Simply make a provision in the CBA and let's go back to pre-pussy football.

Why on God's green earth would the players agree to that provision?
