How am I getting off track? You opened the door for comparison of keyboard players by proclaiming that Hollingsworth is the best.

Their songs are very much jazz and experimental infused

Great. That doesn't equate to real jazz like Medeski does on a regular basis with noted virtuoso John Scofield.

Hollingsworth brings more to the table than any of the guys listed

Why do rock bands and jazz musicians more often turn to the other guys for side projects and special shows? I guess you know more than they do.

Cheese playing bluegrass or untz has nothing to do with his piano abilities other than the fact that he in more open to diverse playing styles.

Well for starters it is a side project. Not a project within the band. But why does any artist sit in with any bands? It adds flair to the show. Especially if they are playing genre that isn't their specialty. That doesn't take anything from his playing abilities though.

I am done discussing it. I stand by my original ranking with Medeski,Benevento, McConnell, Neville, and Walter all being superior to Hollingsworth. I am willing to bet most would agree on the majority of the list.

quote:

Glitterglu Productions is proud to announce the debut performance of Holy Kimoto, a brand new supergroup featuring jam heavy hitters Steve Kimock, Kyle Hollingsworth (The String Cheese Incident), and Michael Travis and Jason Hann (EOTO, SCI). This very special event takes place on January 8 at the White Room in Miami, FL. The evening promises to be an exciting experiment in improvisation featuring some of the best musicians on the scene today. While this is the debut performance, rumors of future performances are flying, but at the moment this will be the first and only performance that is scheduled. Tickets
