For the last 10 years are so, there has been a minimum renewal rate of 97-99% of season tickets. With the increase in fees and ticket costs, along with a crappy home schedule, I am curious what y'all think the renewal rate will be this season of current season ticket holders? I say 85-90%

It will stay the same
Renewal rate will not be affected until secondary market is not there to sell them on

That's during up at an alarming rate. Just to big a hassle to go to shitty games any more. Even NC game this year at tickets going for $100 bucks out side of the stadium.

I wouldn't be surprised to see that market stop sustaining at least Face + Tradition fee pricing next year.

this past year was my first year after giving them up. But, I found some through the secondary market way early before the season. Probably still overpaid, but came out much better. Going into next year, I'm only getting Bama tickets early at an Ok price. The rest I'm winging it last minute. Will probably continue to do that going forward.

I have posted before, think this will eventually be a problem when TAF payers (like me) will say enough and drop the season tickets and just hit the gates before KO get practically free tickets every time except maybe for Gumps game and that will still be easy to come by! Those that say, well someone will alway take your spot and pay the TAF, are in dreamland and denial. This is not just common to us either as all ticket prices are increasing around the SEC to keep up with increasing operational costs and maintain facilities and top coaches and staffs (we know one that is highest paid in the land btw) and don't know where it will end!

It will stay the same because you have the corporate tickets that will be bought no matter what, the die hards (like myself) who will renew no matter what, the newbies who "finally" got tickets, & even If some people give their's up, those on the waiting list will buy them up. The same amount/% of season tickets will be renewed/purchased whether it be by the same person or someone else, the numbers will stay the same.

It pretty much did years ago for the sideline seats. Hence why I got rid of mine. I got sick of owning sideline tix that cost a small fortune that I couldn't give away. Now I only bother to go to the decent games unless I'm given tickets, which I pass up pretty often as well. Feels good to be on the other side of that now! Went to 3 games this year in great seats, one of which was in a suite, and paid a grand total of 0 dollars.

The renewal rate will be over 95%. The home schedule next year is a non-factor since season ticketholders know how hard it is to get them back once they give them up. This isn't the first year having a crappy home schedule.

Season ticketholders complain about a lot of stuff and say they aren't renewing, but a very small number actually do when the time comes to renew.

I agree with everything that you said, but you left out a whole demographic.

Those season ticket holders that are on the fence, and will get pushed off when they keep getting hit with price increases and TAF fees.

What's interesting to me, they keep increases prices, yet we are able to generate so much money, we donate roughly $7M a year to academics, there has to be some wiggle room.

I'd assume that we are going to bring in some more money with the SEC network, along with the ridiculous contract the SEC has with CBS.

Here is the kicker. I think the hike in ticket prices are derived from 1) tradition 2) success we've had 3) renovations to the stadium. It will be interesting to see what the ticket prices will do in the future, will they continue to climb or will they flatten out?

The stadium will generate tons more money with the advent of 1,000s more suites, so you'd think that they'd be able to cut some of the costs of ticket prices. But I think TAF and the athletics as a whole are greedy, and will continue to keep prices high because they know the demand is there and people will pay, to a certain extent.

I just wish there was some way to sit in different seats for different games. I'm tired of sitting in the same spot. They're alright seats, section 242, but it just gets old.

you do realize that

#1 Our ticket and required donation prices are the cheapest of the major SEC schools

and

#2 With Saban's new deal that gives him a 50% raise, the scale for coaching salaries is about to get another jolt

Having to donate to the University is a big hit. The AD is not giving back because we are flush with cash and can't find another way to spend this money. It is now required and part of the AD budget. You can thank the state for cutting higher education year after year. Season ticketholders are now funding academics, too.

It's not about greed as no one (other than coaches) are getting rich. Football has to pay for 12 non-revenue producing sports as well. That's a huge chunk.

Sucks, but LSU football pretty much pays for everything.

i have season tickets and will always renew, but i refuse to pay TAF fees or parking. I get there so early or the night before I never have an issue parking and i can pretty much save my money i was donating to TAF and just pay for a ticket if i want to go an away game or bowl game (and i have a say where i sit).
