A little more than two years after acquiring him, and 18 months after matching a four-year, $58 million offer sheet from Phoenix, the Pelicans remain active in their pursuit of trading guard Eric Gordon, league sources told Sporting News this week. New Orleans has made contact with several teams about Gordon, even devising three-team scenarios in order to find him a new home.

Have heard same, will be tough to deal. RT @sn_nba: Pelicans pushing Eric Gordon on the trade block, sources say https://bit.ly/1cKpIOY

I'll say this: There is intrigue around the league about Gordon, still, b/c he could be had. But contract is prohibitive for most teams.

In other words: lots of front offices look at Gordon as "buy low" candidate with youth, upside. But caution outweighs hope for most.

If we're going into full on tank mode keeping Jrue and Ryno out for basically the rest of the season, I'd take expirings.

For the record, I really don't want to tank.

It doesn't sound like we should get too excited. Teams aren't laughing at us like GS did last season, but they're waiting for Demps to say "but wait, there's more. Order today and we'll throw in..."

Is there really any other option without Ryno and Jrue? We won't be trying to tank, we'll just do it. Unless Tyreke and AD get ridiculous how do we win?

They're also imploding. #9 seed currently but 2-8 in last 10 and lost 6 in a row. Them and Charlotte seem like the most likely trading partners. Both on the playoff bubble, in "win now" mode with a roster that's not working out and could actually use a scorer like Gordon.

DET's frontcourt experiment has been an abject failure

This will probably be our best option. And I'd be fine with it. Start clean with $14M extra cap space in the off-season

Detroit gave Josh Smith money. They would love Eric Gordon.
