ESPN - Packers T David Bakhtiari, Saints CB Keenan Lewis violated NFL concussion protocol in wild-card games

ETA: He refused to leave the sideline...wtf. No fines, so meaningless headline.

The accompanying article said there won't be so much as a fine coming from this.

Maybe he refused to go to the locker room for some more test during the game. IDK

He must have passed his in week test to practice, right? He should be okay. Maybe get fined or a hard lecture. Nothing more IMO.

But Goodell does hate the Saints so we'll see.

I mean, if he's concussed, OBVIOUSLY he isn't in the right state of mind to understand. so you can't really hit him/fine him for that right?

I looked at the article on ESPN. He was in violation because he didn't go to the locker room. He won't even be fined. They pretty much just wasted all of our time by sending that text.

All it's saying is that no fine will be taken against the team. When the new CBA came out the players and owners agreed that a fine could happen if the player or coach violated the agreement. Not sure why GB wasn't fined b/c they allowed the player back into the game.

right. its like expecting someone whose already "under the influence" to make a sound decision as if they are of sound mind (decide not to drive).

Fining would be chicken shite. If the guy is concussed how could you hold him responsible for his sideline behavior?

This is really the only reason the concussion protocol exists.

And, he wasn't concussed, so how could you hold him accountable for violating the NFL concussion protocol?

He never had a concussion.

He was fine.

He could have played.

He had no issues.

We almost lost the game before it and the season was almost over and he was fine the whole time.

I understand the precaution, but to then make a deal out of it afterwards when he was fine is beyond dumb, but that is the NFL, isn't it?

I get if he had a concussion and coaches made him go back in with threat of being cut while he was bleeding from the ears and nose, but this is beyond ridiculous to even bring it up.
