a few more examples
Necrophagist - Stabwound

Trepalium - Usual Crap

Death - Flesh and the Power it Holds

Atheist - Piece of Time

Cynic - How Could I

Shining - Fisheye

Ok these aren't all modern and lean more toward progressive death metal but still have some jazz influence. I'd recommend the albums Trepalium - XIII and Shining - Blackjazz for something a little less deathy. Shining is actually black metal/jazz fusion.

I've never been much of a fan of the deep screaming like that first link you posted, but this Trepalium song is great so far. vocals and the verse riff remind me of mudvayne. love the classical/jazzy feel of the fills.

this shining song is definitely interesting too. I'll have to check out both of these albums

Trepalium's first two albums are great. Their newest one is more straightforward death metal and not nearly as good. I like their groovy stuff better.

While a little less Metal, Planet X does a fantastic job of using a lot of Fusion in their music. It's hard to find any good clips on youtube but here is a concert that should give you a good idea of what they are capable of.
