This is getting ridiculous. He fired the people responsible, yet ABC tries to claim that his "no nonsense" political style encouraged their behavior.

I wish the media paid as much attention to the IRS, NSA, & DOJ as they do to a traffic jam in New Jersey.

I have read articles from them saying that this will prove Christie is a bully. The hypocrisy on their lack of reporting Obama as a bully is astounding.

There is a hypocrisy but I do think this is a valid story worthy of news time. If Obama got caught like this with actual emails & text messages, I would be screaming for news coverage. Christie deserves this coverage and how long it lasts depends on if he fired the right people or not.

Then again, I don't like Christie and am happy for anything that slows his nomination momentum.

Christie should be held accountable for this, but damn it is disgusting how the media does not even attempt to hide thier hipcracy/double standard when dealing with Obama.

F/F
Benghazi
IRS targeting
Spying on the media

All infinitely worse than what Christies minions did.

The hypocrisy is pretty glaring.....there's a very clear double standard with how the two are treated by the media.

Key difference: Christie took ownership and fired those responsible, both within a day of it coming out.

For all I care, they can hang Christie by his balls. But ABC gives almost 10 minutes to trafficgate; meanwhile where was equivalent reporting on any one of a half-dozen scandals involving Obama? What a joke!

Edit- I actually watched CBS, and they did the same thing.

He'd have been impeached, removed, and probably in prison for life by now.

Yeah, that was a doozy. Now, we find out that the guy behind Benghazi was getting paid a stipend by Al Qaeda.....So, New York Times, Al Qaeda wasn't involved, huh?

Most telling is the way and who is coming at him and trying to derail any run before it even starts.

That NYT piece was SUPPOSED to put Benghazi to rest once and for all. Instead, it has given new life to the issue and it will remain front and center throughout 2014. CBS set-up of Lara Logan was intended to do the same thing, but everyone saw right through it. Unlike the other "scandals", Benghazi is here to stay. The two aces that the administration (and by extension, Hillary) still hold are (1) that nobody in Washington dares to utter the words that need to be said for fear of being labeled "insensitive" and the 2/2 family split. The former would establish the beginning point for spelling out all of the mistakes that were made, while the latter is something that at some point just has to be absorbed by both sides.

I doubt I would ever vote for Christie but he dealt with the wrongdoers quickly and decisively so he gained some respect from me for that.

Compare and contrast Christie v. Obama. Christie fires his while Obama sends his wrongdoer on a paid vacation.

Basically Obama is too incompetent to be responsible for a scandal and republicans are generally seen as solid executives that can't use incompetency as an excuse when scandals hit.

Benghazi isn't going away because 4 Americans died and there are many lies involved in that. It will be a black mark on Hillary if she runs that may hurt her chances..I honestly think Reps are waiting to blow that investigation open when campaigns start up for 2016. The other scandals are a problem, and came to light under Obama, but much of that has likely been going on under other Admins..they just hid it better. (Irs targeting and NSA spying). Fast and Furious needs to be looked into more, but our politicians have supported the drug trade behind the scenes for decades.

Of course. I wouldn't expect anything less from the media. Bridgegate is red meat for the northeast media.

The irony is that as the liberal media beats down a big fat RINO, potential Tea Party candidates sit by and enjoy the show. This is great news for Scott Walker and Rand Paul.

I have been posting for a year now that it isn't going away, often in threads that said it was dead issue. Boehner is hurting the cause greatly at this point, still allowing five separate House Committees to struggle through scheduling problems, instead of acceding to the wishes of 75% of his House members for a select House Committee to consolidate the investigations and get down to serious business. Meanwhile, Senate Republicans are left completely helpless to pursue the matter because Reid has shut the door on any further Benghazi inquiries. A Republican majority in the Senate come January 3rd of 2015 would break that gridlock and blow the thing open. Which is why it's so important to NOT nominate far-right extremist candidates in the primaries who have no chance of winning next November.

With apologies to Jagger, you can't always get what you want, but if you use your intelligence, you can often get what you need. Once you get what you need, THEN you can focus on getting what you want.
