Apparently the league is strongly considering adding 2 more playoff teams in each conference.

This year, that would've put Arizona and Dallas in the playoffs for the NFC and Miami and Pittsburgh in for the AFC.

What a joke, I think it would completely water down the regular season... What do you guys think?

Also, check out this comment straight from Goodell's mouth...

“One of the great things about the NFL other than it’s unscripted is that every team starts the season with hope.” - Goodell

Does anyone else find it odd that he went out of his way to state this? It seems so fake, to me this only gives more ammunition to people who complain that the NFL is rigged in some cases.

All about the money with the NFL. It is a business and they do not care what happens as long as more money comes in.

Yeah, I don't like that idea.

It's basically turning into the NBA, especially if you add more regular season games on top of that. Washed down regular season with less incentive for coming out and playing well early in the season. It's just a money grab for the NFL. Pathetic, I don't think this league will be watchable in 10 years.

I'd be for an additional team in each conference making the playoffs with only the #1 seed getting a bye. 2 teams is a bit overkill.

I wouldn't mind it honestly. Gives the #1 seed a true benefit by being the only team with a bye so 2-7 would play. Still less than half the teams in the leave would make it.

if you add 2 more playoff teams...that would make 8 total, you give #1 the bye. Now there are 7 teams, how the flippin hell do you do that then?

No it doesn't.

It's more football. Anyone who complains about that, isn't being honest with themselves.

And if those teams aren't truly deserving, then they'll lose first round. No harm no foul.

I'll trust anyone but others to decide what I'm being honest about thank you.

Well then why not re-set the entire season and have a 32 team play-off tournament if as you say there is "no harm no foul".

32 or 28 or 24 where is that line of "honesty" only you know so much about?

Arizona was one of the hottest teams in the league and more than deserved to make the playoffs over the eagles or packers.

The integrity of the game means nothing to this moron and to the owners as well. Teams in the playoffs with 8-8 seasons and worse will become common place.

If Goodell wants to enhance the playoffs, he should seed the playoffs by record, regardless of division. Sure, it might diminish the little bit of what's left of NFL rivalry games, but it would stop the utter ridiculousness of leaving out an Arizona in favor of a NFC Least turd in Philly or Dallas.

At the very least if he is gonna keep the same format, let the better record wild card teams host the playoff games instead of the division winners. It's only fair.

Just because you win your sad joke of a division doesn't mean that you deserve to host a playoff game over a team that has 4 more wins than you but didn't win their division because they unfortunately had a juggernaut on a roll.
