This.
Petrino's shite azz recruiting is pretty much THE reason we've been in the toilet for 2 (going on 3) years now.
It's why we started 2 walk-on seniors and a true freshman in our linebacker corps this year, 2 walk-ons on the O-line last year, and have a paper thin back seven.

What's crazy is that Steele is the second DC who Petrino hired and then split before settling into the job. He hired Ellis Johnson when he got the Arkansas job, but Ellis split for USCe after something like 2 weeks. He said it was because he wanted to go home, but we later came to realize that he got a firsthand look at Bobby's "give no fricks" attitude about defense.

Everything I've read says Steele will be taking an on the field role.
