Sonny and Shea both just cb kelly to LSU. How much confidence does the board have in this after last thursday?

He's 268?

I hate bringing in guys who need to add 30-40 lbs to their frame. The seem like a project more than anything else, and if you go by history, our OL projects don't pan out.

ETA: Derrick Kelly from Gadsden, AL. No interest in Auburn and he has no offer from Alabama.

They wouldn't do that if they didn't know something. They are typically pretty reserved with giving CB's at all unless they had intel. Intel from some of their guys was just early and wrong. The interview I read from Kelly was very positive for LSU, especially from his mom's end. He would probably prefer FSU, but it is likely a numbers issue.

Bennie Logan (3*, 272 lbs according to rivals) and Michael Brockers (4*, 255 according to rivals ) worked out OK. Brockers was listed at 280 by the time he arrived as a freshman. Just sayin.

edit: You said O linemen, my bad. No examples to offer there.

24/7 has him at 295, Scout at 288. So all you did was find his lightest weight I'm guessing to help your argument. You want an o-line comparison? Jerald Hawkins was 6'6" 280 when he arrived at LSU

He's not from Gadsden, Alabama. He's from Quincy, Florida and goes to East Gadsden High School in Havana, Florida

Josh Williford was considered a project and he worked out ok and was a contributor.

I'd say if he contributed to that degree, it would be a success.

Yeah. I saw the edit.

Only Josh D and T-Bob came in (2005-present) needing to add significant weight and contributed as starters while they were here.

You don't need a starter for 2014, you need numbers and they will have time to develop.

247 lists him as 295.

These numbers are subject to incredible flux:

A. He's 6 feet, 5 inches tall - 20 to 30 pounds is NOTHING if it is the right type of weight, and

B. He's 17 or 18 years old.

Ron wants his OLinemen at a well-proportioned 300+ when they hit campus. no time for projects!

Yeah, I don't know how you claim a guy is stricly a project based solely on his rivals listed weight.
