Britt is a head case, but dude is a legit number 1 wr when he is focused, and he's still young. Maybe Payton and Brees could keep him straight.

all about the price, no prob if it is a "show me" deal.

As far as the head, I have a lotta faith in the FO on these calls. They've had success with some that had head questions before. Plenty they have stayed away from as well.

He outted the TN staff and was inactive 3 of the last 4 games. Not good resume material.

Pass. His knees are already a wreck. Seems like he tears an ACL every other year. If it weren't for injury concerns, I would think about taking a chance on him.

Yeah, I don't think he will cost much though. Pretty sure any team could have had him for a very low draft pick, and no one gambled on him.

A healthy scratch three of Tennessee's final four games, Britt was one of the worst players in the NFL this season, but pointed out that "other receivers dropped balls." He thinks there was a "double standard." He'll learn about someone else's standards next season, as Britt will not be back with the Titans. Britt has already gone on the record as believing that he'll be a No. 1 receiver in 2014. Mon, Dec 30, 2013 02:31:00 PM

guy sounds like a winner

he's a free agent ,no need to even offer picks. He's a loser, not a payton type of guy.

Yeah, I know he is a free agent now. During the season anyone could have gotten him for nothing basically. Considering the Saints were always rumored to be talking to old Randy Moss, I could see Payton taking a chance on this guy.

By the way, no one wanted Moss anymore either when he was with the Raiders. Certain teams have what it takes to take a chance on a guy like this, and the Saints I think are one of those teams. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Patriots sign him.

I'd rather take a shot with the other head case Justin Blackmon. Doubt if Jax takes him back.

Looks like he'll be on the Pats radar next off season.

I think we have a better chance of seeing Martez Wilson sign with the Saints than Kenny Britt.

I agree, but he may not even be able to play next season. Plus Saints would have to trade for him.

Okay, I respect the opinions given, but why are people acting like the Saints don't or wouldn't take a chance on guys like Britt? Again, the Saints and Pats or the perfect teams that or willing to take chances on guys like Britt. Whether they do or not is one thing, but stop acting like the Saints wouldn't even think about it.

if it is for a short deal then absolutely. Ideally I'd like a low 2 year deal so if he blew up we'd get another year out of him on the cheap but wouldn't cost much to cut.

Yeah, they seemed to be the one team that was rumored to trade for him. I have no doubt that he will have a huge season if they get him.

Loomis fell out of his chair laughing when he read your thread.

On April 12, 2011 Britt was arrested in New Jersey on three counts (including a felony) following an alleged car chase with police. The charges were later reduced.[8] On June 7, Britt pled guilty to careless driving and was fined.[9] On June 8, 2012, Britt was arrested in Hoboken, NJ, charged with resisting arrest.[10] On January 13, 2013, Britt's close personal friend was involved in a stabbing, and reportedly drove him to the Jersey City Medical Center. When police attempted to ask Britt about the incident, he was allegedly not willing to cooperate. The incident marks the ninth time Britt was involved with police since he joined the NFL.

I've been on the Britt/Maclin/Hicks bandwagon. Guys that are young and will want a big contract, but won't be getting one this year due to attitude and/or injury issues. Both the Saints and Pats have elite QBs but need WR help, and both would be ideal destinations for one of those guys trying to up their value before possibly getting one more big deal.

So then the argument is that Britt has no one to go to bat for him on the coaching staff, like Shockey had Payton. That's different than just writing him off altogether just because he is a head case.
