I wouldn't exploit the firing on a national stage under the guise of "integrity"

a) the university is on a national stage.

b) petrino being the way he is puts himself even more on the national stage

c) since calling it integrity doesn't work for you, what would you call it and do if you had been in jeff longs shoes?

Jeff Long calling out Steve Spurrier on Twitter for not chastising a kid for a speeding ticket tells me all I need to know.

Didn't know about that. I think it's great. Spurrier has called out more people than I care to think about.

I don't have a problem with the firing or hiring. I just don't like a self righteous muddafricker.

Spurrier knows his shite stinks.

Imagine the awkwardness of Petrino coming into your home recruiting your kid now.

It might perhaps be awkward for Bobby or maybe my kid. I don't know. But personally, it wouldn't bother me. I didn't grow up in an innocent world.

Was looking at WKU's recruiting class, yep, looks like a Petrino class.

2 QB, 6 WR, 2 RB, 1 DT, 2 DB

Great coach, poor recruiter, and huge piece of shite.

Karma is going to get him at some point.

Tuesday night update:

quote:

Being told by a source that Western Kentucky's staff was surprised that Bobby Petrino was not at work today. Also being told Petrino's wife was in Louisville today.

All signs right now are pointing towards Petrino being the guy.

Also getting word that Jeff Brohm interviewed at WKU today.

Looking into who could be Petrino's DC in Louisville once this goes official. Randy Shannon's name is being brought up by a lot of contacts.

I can also tell you there was interest from Chad Morris but he was never contacted by Louisville.

Wednesday update:

quote:

Some interesting intel from a source close to the Clemson program came in this morning --

Per a source, Clemson OC Chad Morris was never formally contacted about the Louisville job and received only 'feelers' from the Cardinals.

Per the source, the feeling from those close to Morris was that Bobby Petrino and Pat Narduzzi were Tom Jurich's 'top tier' candidates to replace Charlie Strong from the outset of Louisville's search for a new head football coach.

InsideTheVille has reported since earlier this week that Bobby Petrino and Pat Narduzzi are the two finalists for the position.

This is how I feel.

When DGB made his decision to go to Mizzou I thought he made a mistake. Boy was I wrong and thank goodness for his sake he did because Petrino is a scum bag. ESPN comments make me realize Lville fans don't understand what all he did here to get fired.

i've seen rumblings that Chizik would be approached to be Bobby's DC.

This is full of win from the spectator seats, 20mi out of Atlanta. Hell, there's still 3 years left on the 10 year contract he signed in 2006... which he broke to coach the Falcons... which he broke in the middle of the night to coach the Hogs... which broke his collarbone...

Anybody that hires this utter POS gets precisely what they deserve. I hope Louisville tacks on a $25M buyout to this slug.

Left a note in locker for his players in ATL, lied to his AD at UPig, illegally hired another man's woman while shoplifting the pootie from a subordinate, and left the current school he coaches once before. Opposing coaches should be able to sow the seeds of doubt in his recruits and their parents. Great coach though.

Fantastic coach, but a historically bad recruiter who will be even worse now after what happened at tFlagship, especially with how bad our roster was when he left.

He was already getting killed on the recruiting trail at UA because of the way he left Louisville and Atlanta, cheating on his wife with a volleyball player will only give opposing coaches more ammo.

He'll win with any players Strong left, but he'll also have his eye on other jobs (especially in the SEC) and he'll have a paper thin roster inside of three years.

is he really a bad recruiter?

or does he just not put effort into recruiting defense?

Karma will get him on the recruiting trail. He already sucks at recruiting, crushing Jessica Dorrell and lying/getting canned for it only gives more ammo to opposing coaches.

Seriously, if someone like Mark Stoops is ever up against Petrino for a recruit, all he has to do is bring his wife on a recruiting visit and introduce her to momma. "Oh, have you met my wife? We're SOULMATES and been together since high school...."

Bad recruiter outside of state. He was able to land a few decently rated guys out of state here and there, but mostly on offense.

His tenure here was buoyed by his 2008 class, which is arguably the best in-state class the state of Arkansas has ever had, and it also included Ryan Mallett as a transfer.

The last two years of Hog football, especially defensively, is the product of Bobby Petrino's recruiting philosophy. We started a senior walk-on at middle linebacker this year who transferred because he couldn't get on the field at AIR FORCE.

He's also pretty bad at "the process," and has an alarmingly high washout rate. Last year, we had something like 8 guys still on the roster from our 2010 class, and it's one of the (many) reasons we sucked the last two years -- not much upperclassman leadership because we had such a high miss rate.

Let's be honest...JL didn't fire Bobby Petrino because he thought it was "morally right". It was a business decision and I have no doubt that Bobby had set the stage and hit the lights way before the motorcycle act came into play.

Doing an interview under the influence of pain medications definitely was a big mistake on Bobby's part. He lied and played right into their hand. I have very little doubt that Jeff Long saw it coming and was told to fire him. It was a politics and business.

Bobby has a special way of pissing people off. It's his personality. He's an a-hole...plain and simple. He stepped on the wrong toes and pissed off the wrong people. They had a bead on his arse way before that incident. Nobody can convince me that Jeff Long wasn't aware of the relationship before the wreck. Give me a break! People talk.

He wasn't fired because it was "morally right" or that there was no other option. I'm not that naive.

One more thing...I hope that Bobby realizes that no pretty young girl is going to love his sorry old arse and he needs to appreciate and love his wife who I believe really loves him.
