he was apparently a huge basketball fan as a kid and loved the Bulls when Rodman was there. He contacted Rodman as a basketball ambassador or something. Rodman, having nothing else to do in his life, decided to take this on as his cause. Clearly ignoring all the inhumane acts and crimes against humanity these people commit on a daily basis.
But hey, its just about basketball and friendship. Really the US should not allow him back in. And I'm quite sure the CIA is all over his arse, or he's working for them or the NSA.

Secondly, why in the frick to media outlets cover this type of insane news? Why do they give them a forum? Don't they understand that's exactly what that dumb frick Kim wants?
