butthurt because all the major networks seem to "hate" the Saints?
I don't get it.
I don't get it.

I can understand fans of NCAA football or hoops being frustrated with the media because they are ultimately evaluated by a selection committee.
But its the NFL fellas, just win baby, and shake the haters off.

I wouldn't use "butthurt" in your article. You keep a thesaurus around, right?

We deserve all the hate IMO. I wouldn't bet on us, but I will be screaming my head off for us to win. I'm a fan though, not a reporter.

I hate the networks not because of highlights, but because they told America that we were guilty of bounties, showed the same LEGAL, UNPENALIZED hits on Kurt Warner and Brett Favre over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again until the public got worked up over it, and never actually cared into looking into whether there was any proof to substantiate the claim.
The team might have been able to get some justice if ESPN and NFLN hadn't drilled the narrative into everyone's heads before there was any evidence.

I hate ESPN. For many more reasons other than the fact they never show the Saints love, and when they do they always bring up the sob story of Katrina. My hate for that network goes much deeper than that. They're a bunch of story stealing dictators who rely on the little man busting his a** daily for all of their stories. Mort and Schefter are a joke and don't "break" a 1/3 of the stories ESPN says they do. frick ESPN and everyone affiliated.
SN: I listen to national radio daily, which features plenty of former ESPN analysts and reporters. I've never heard a single one say anything good about that network and/or it's bosses.

I just can't stand how the mainstream media caters to the big market teams; because of that, they cater to their opinions too. We get bashed on TV by "analysts" all the time and it gives a lot of people a negative opinion about us. It's just frustrating, as a fan, especially when everyone in America believes Peyton and Brady are the best shite since the invention of fire and neither has done more than Drew and the Saints in the last 5-6 years.

That use to be me. I don't let it bother me anymore.
I don't even think the networks hate the Saints. It's...
-We're small market (but draw in ratings)
-We've been good for a while, and they want parity
-*this is related to the above* They really want a black QB to succeed, like, bad.
I've heard this statement before, and I really didn't take it seriously, but when the media was asking if Cam was "elite" after they beat the Pats at home, it was so obvious.

I'm at the point where it just aggravates me now. I know how special this team is and how special they have been for years now. The media will continue to bash us and downplay us.
I prefer to be the underdog anyway

I hate people who use the expression 'show love.'

I really couldn't believe they were asking that question after that game. He was picking up almost all of his first downs with scrambling. He's an elite scrambler. He's a sub par passer with a rocket arm.

There is 2 kinds of national analysis.
There are people who watch teh team and know what is goign on and think that the other team is better and will win. That I can accept.
Then there is the national analyst who goes on stereotype and cliche and has not watched a second of film and pontificates based on assumption rather than fact. That analyst is no better than message board posters.

Sounds like you have a problem.

I just want RESPECT!
Everybody picked the Eagles except like Skip Bayless, who was trolling, so when we WIN show some damn highlights longer than 3 plays.
All they do is say the Saints were 3-5 on the road but wasn't New England 3-5 on the road also?
ESPN & the NFL Network never talk about the Saints & when they do it's bad or short.

Jizz, I am with Patio on this. I don't care what any of the media pundits say, because they live 600 miles away and watch all games with little detail. Plus they are all biased to either the big market teams or the historic ones. I actually stopped watching all of the talking heads a few years back, because it was nothing more than pop-rambling and sensationalism. I especially stopped ALL things ESPN (except MNF unfortunately) when they were found to have sat on evidence that showed a certain CollegeBB coach to (ughem.. allegedly) be a child molestor.
I watch the games only, read news on the web and peruse the TD message boards.
And no, I don't read your shitty column
