Wife doesn't have it offered through her employer and I got a quote for $1500/mo coverage at $40/mo premium.

Is this good? Bad?

Check out the term life with APTA as well, I have some of both, this year they refunded 25% of premiums on both because of lack of claims???healthy group

Depends on what she does as well, so hard to say if the price is good. It isn't terrible though. Who is it through? There is a lot more to disability policies than the coverage amount and price. Contracts differ quite a lot from company to company and definition to definition.

Also, check with the company on weather multiple people are insured with disability at her office. If so, some companies will offer a multilife discount.

Depends on the variables involved (age/income/job type/etc). I paid $245 (annual premium) in 2013 for $4,200 per month in coverage. Paid $230 in 2012 for $4,000 per month in coverage. However, I'm realtively young, have a desk job, and the policy is through a professional organization (AICPA). Annual refund of premium last year was approximately $60.

Thanks. She's healthy and a safe environment-type job. I've got her professional org sending paperwork to us to review.
