What impact will Charlie Strong at Texas have on any of our Texas recruits? I would like to think that Jamal is 100% LSU, but I have absolutely no information on if he has actually shut it down. Any ideas on what you think the future of recruiting in Texas looks like?

Jamal Adams was going to LSU or UF. UT wasnt a major play for him. Doesnt change anything for him.

Texas recruiting will be like it has been. There are so many big recruits and big prospects that not all of them can go to UT. And under Mack Brown UT has still been able to get good recruiting classes.

I look for Strong to be a total bust at UT.

Hope so, the last thing we need is another great recruiter in the area.

I doubt that. He was a great DC and great recruiter at Florida. He turned a shitty Louisville program around too. He's an upgrade over Mac Brown for sure.

He's not the threat, Sumlin is. They got to a couple Karr Asst's and lead for Tyron Johnson, the great 15 WR from Easton. Add to that they just hired Terry Joseph, a Westbank native to coach their DB's.
Frank needs help in NOLA!!!

Strong is an excellent hire. There's just soooo much talent in Texas we will still pluck a few good ones every year.

LSU hasn't been very proactive addressing recruiting issues. Hopefully things change.

Coach Strong (Texas) and Sumlin (TAMU) will play major roles in LSU and other Big 12 schools entering Texas for recruits.

Before we can focus on their impact for recruiting, our coaching staff needs to find a way to repair the fence that has been broken in the state. TAMU, AUBURN and BAMA have been in the state a lot getting good to great players. Now we have to contend with Florida in 2015 (Hunter Dale and others) as well.

Personally, I think a solid year on the football field in 2014 will go a long way in recruiting, especially if we beat some of those schools head-to-head on the field.

Zero this year, he's coming in too late. Going forward, Texas will get pretty much who they want like always, but there are plenty of blue chippers in TX to go around.

My concern would be in New Orleans. We don't need another poacher there. Texas A&M may cause us a Houston area recruit or two over time.

It will be interesting to see who he hires on his staff. One to watch would be Joker Phillips and I think that would be an issue for keeping Jamal Adams.

don't think he will do much. He was at Lousiville with a Teddy Bridgewater (first round NFL QB) playing a Louisville schedule. He's gonna have to show he can consistently pull in that kind of talent and play with the big boys consistently.

LSU needs to put the full court press on Johnson. His Hudl highlights are amazing. Big, strong looking kid.

Strong was on the news today in Texas and said that a fence is going up around Texas and the best talent will not leave the state !

He said Texas will be very agressive in recruiting from this day on...

I look for him to try to get a meeting with Adams.
