Not mine, just what some of the early mocks have...
Walter Football
New Orleans Saints: Kyle Van Noy, DE/OLB, BYU
The Saints had several holes to fill in the 2013 NFL Draft, so they weren't able to obtain a pass-rusher until the sixth round with Rufus Johnson. They'll probably need to do so earlier in May. They couldn't get to Russell Wilson at all in a big Monday night loss. Junior Galette has been awesome, but New Orleans needs a potent pass-rusher across from him.
New Orleans Saints: A.J. Johnson, ILB, Tennessee
Here's more help for the Saints' linebacking corps. David Hawthorne has never lived up to expectations, so the front office may want to find someone who can challenge him.
New Orleans Saints: Jarvis Landry, WR, LSU
The Saints could use another receiver. Marques Colston disappointed this season prior to the Carolina victory, yet he's still New Orleans' top option by a wide margin.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS: TRENT MURPHY, OLB, STANFORD
The Saints defense successfully made the transition to a 3-4 scheme under the direction of Rob Ryan and the improvement was dramatic. However, even though Junior Galette has emerged as one of the most dangerous edge pass rushers in the league the Saints could use some more help at outside linebacker. After all Victor Butler is coming off a major injury and is still basically an unknown commodity while Parys Haralson is probably better suited for a backup role. Trent Murphy of Stanford plays defensive end in college but could make the Trent Murphy | Stanford Cardinal move to outside linebacker in an odd front at the next level. Murphy may not have elite speed or athleticism but compensates with excellent technique, great strength, a non-stop motor and a tough as nails blue-collar mentality. Think Ryan Kerrigan. New Orleans could also look to add some depth at defensive end and cornerback as well. Keep an eye on wide receiver as a darkhorse too because the Saints were legitimately interest in Tavon Austin last year and it’s never a bad idea to give Sean Payton & Drew Brees more weapons to torture defenses with.

Keenan Lewis and Corey White were surprisingly effective this season, but depth is an issue and it certainly couldn’t hurt to upgrade the position. Gilbert has the size and athleticism to develop into a quality shutdown corner.

Transitioning to a 3-4 defense isn't easy. The Saints need to upgrade the talent on the edge, and Beasley is as explosive a pass rusher as they come.

Needs on the offensive side might have finally surpassed the D. Interesting to think how truly dominant the defense could evolve to with another dynamic playmaker.

I'm surprised how many mocks keep pointing towards OLB. I kinda feel like we're set there at least for the immediate future. You've got Butler coming back, Haralson, Galette. I mean it's not like it's a weak spot IMO. If someone falls who is a can't miss prospect, then I guess I won't be mad about it. But I'd be pretty disappointed if we went for a front 7 defensive pick at all.

Richardson played OT also. Much more success inside though. I could see it if he did RT then later slid over to OG. The cap reality of the Evans/Grubbs contracts will be coming to bear...
Evans goes from $3.3mil cap hit this year to $6.7mil to $11mil for two years. That's ages 31-33
Grubbs goes from $4,3mil this year to $9.1mil to $9.6mil to $10.3mil at ages 30-32

Just think about how badass out offense could be if we did the same? We've been leaning on just Drew (deservedly so) for awhile. It's time to give him a weapon to be reckoned with to pair with Jimmy to let Brees go all out Brady 07 style

Galette we're good. As much as we hope, Butler is still unproven fulltime. Haralson is turning 30 and not under contract so you cannot count him. So I see Juneyah, Butler, & nothing. After Jordan & Juneyah no one reached 5 sacks. Playmaking pass rushers are always a premium.

If Haralson is 30, coming off an injury, and in a year in which he didn't play full time but played solidly, I think he can be signed for cheap and is some outstanding depth.

agree, but until a contract ya can't pencil him in.
Harper & Jenkins could both be back, both gone, or some combo. That will be a huge impact on needs one way or another.

Is this 3 seperate opinions on first round picks or mocks for rounds 1-3? If it's rounds 1-3, Saints win the draft

I don't think David Hawthorne "never lived up to expectation", that's a little too harsh.
He was injured all last year and finally got healthy. He's been a serious boss at times this year. Not sure how old he is, but I'm not in a super rush to replace him.

Yet Grahm was a 3rd rounder. The point is, you can find great WRs, TEs, RBs in the mid-late rounds. It's much tougher to find great pass rushers, OT's or cover corners later on in the draft.
The Saints will probably do what they always do, try to match the BPA with need, but not "reaching" for a lesser player just to fill a need. They sold out to get Sed Ellis to fill a need and he flopped. To an extent, they did the same for Ingram. Last year, a pass rusher seemed to be a much bigger need than a saftey. However, they thought Vaccaro was the best defensive player on the board. That seemed to have worked out this year.

I sort of agree. You can find gems, but you're just not gonna like out and find the next Calvin Johnson or Randy moss in the later rounds. Yes this team has excelled at finding those gems, but you can't just count on that. It's time to give Brees a weapon that can be a force on their own. Graham's a monster in his own right, but he's at his best when we're not trying to force the ball to him in triple coverage. We need someone on the outside to make teams respect our speed and not just jam and throw everyone off their routes

I think Armstead's play in the last two games have been very encouraging, and depending on how the staff feels, OT may not be as pressing if they can retain Strief on the cheap at RT.
CB will honestly depend on two things. Greer coming back and Patrick Robinson's return to health. I honestly think P ROB has all the tools to be a stout corner in Ryan's defense. The question will be how he returns from injury.
2 other questions will be that we should be getting Victor Butler back to add to a pretty good pass rushing core, and how will he perform.
The other will be whether the Saints can bring back Haralson on a team friendly deal. He's a great player, and hopefully willing to play on the cheap here.
