color commentator and play by play guys getting mixed in this thread.
There's some pretty bad ones when ya get to the #4 teams down. I hate Buck as play by play. He's great for beisbol but doesn't have the same knowledge or passion for football. Costas another all sports, not a football kinda guy.
BTW no Buck-Aikman this week. Burkhardt & Lynch.
I'm not much on most of the CBS commentators. Like Dierdorf, Gannon, Beuerlein etc
/spinoff thread Saints Broadcast crews of old

Collinsworth is better at his job than al michaels. And he does manage to stay sober while closing his eyes while speaking.
The worst goes to mayock. It's not that he doesn't know football, it's just that he sucks in a broadcasting booth.

Tirico/gruden - best team
Verne/Gary - worst team
Collinsworth - knows his shite but states your worst nightmares so it makes you nervous as shite and you want to punch his arse as a result.
Dierdorf - the worst
Billick - douche
nailed
eta: but I'd throw in Matt Millen as the worst with Dierdorf gone after this weekend.

If college counts then lundquist and Danielson are the tops in the biz

Hearing Collinsworth talk my ears off

Buck/Aikman has to take the cake

Just to add to this esteemed list, would not be complete without
Muffberger mumbling through every down and distance and play call as if he were hiding under the covers talking to himself while afraid of ghosts and the dark. You can't understand a damn word he says.

Ralph Malbrough - yes, I am considering, television, print and internet altogether.

I couldn't believe those two knuckle heads had no idea that fumble would be overturned.

There are so many terrible ones, how about the ones I can stomach? Gruden, Terico, Michaels...that's about it.

"Shayne Graham has played for 9 teams in the past couple of years as a journeyman kicker. He's missed some big kicks in the playoffs, most recently with Cincinatti. This 32 yard chip shot field goal is anything but..."

Phil Simms is the absolute worst. He adds absolutely nothing to the broadcast, no insight whatsoever, and is the all time master of the obvious.

Musberger is the worst. I mute the TV when he is on. Every team and player he talks about is the greatest, most spectacular, incredible or unbelievable team/player ever in the history of the world. Every game is one of the greatest he's seen. And he never shuts up. The SOB makes me ill.

Aikman and Buck are deadpan bores
Who's that guy who did the SB..I can't stand him so much I've even put his name out of my mind..

Jim Nance? He's good, and not just football.

ditto that.
Dierdorf is right behind Brent M. as the worst.

Aikmen/Buck is awful; there is no worse combo in the NFL.
I really hate everyone on Monday Night Football other than Gruden (he talks too much, but generally has good insight into the game). All CBS commentators are forgettable.
As far as college football, I can't stand any female announcer or CBS commentators. Verne needs to retire, desperately. I love when the College Football Live crew (especially Holtz and May) do a game. I also like Lee Corso a lot.
