Kaep is better, younger, and still coming up. Plus he has a playmaking factor in the clutch that few other nfl qbs have.

People on this board forget one major factor. Money was a huge issue. Smith was $8MM to keep (IIRC). Kaep is about $500K. Enables the. Niners to have the highest paid D in the league.

The Great Gazoo annoys me, but I don't think SF wins that game with Alex. Those wheels may not matter against Seattle, but they did tonight. IMO, he is better by an extra playoff game per year.
