Engine Coolant Question

Do any of you either drain or flush your radiator periodically? As in 5 years or 40K miles, etc.

I've never done it.
I don't recommend flushing anything, but I'm no mechanic. If you're going to do something, drain and change. Distilled water and OEM spec antifreeze.
When I buy a new truck I plan on doing everything per the manual. The people that built it know what it needs better than anybody.

Drain and refill with 50/50 occasionally. I'd say about 3-4 yrs.
If you still use conventional green coolant you need to change it every 5yr/50,000 miles. The additive package that inhibits corrosion gets used up, especially in engines with iron blocks and alloy heads/radiators like trucks. Longlife coolants can definitely go a bit longer but you still should consider a partial drain/fill every few years to keep up the additives.

Did it on my truck(7 gallons). Took a whole day. I flushed with tap water twice, a regular detergent, tap water two more times, an iron detergent, three times with tap water, and 25gal distilled water. They filled to the top with concentrate and had to top off with 50/50 over the next two days. Put two new thermostats in also
