Why not Houma? They can't flip burgers fast enough at their new Lafayette location.

No info here, but wouldn't be surprised. Houma needs a "good" (I use that term loosely) burger joint. My gf told me she was craving a burger yesterday...honestly couldn't think of anywhere worth taking her. Settled on pho at white bowl instead.

5 guys is looking but that is all I have heard. Everyone wants to get on MLK but the prices are making companies rethink. Landry from Walk Ons was telling me they are looking on MLK. I've since heard that they are now looking at spots by Pepper's since it is cheaper. You're starting to see Houma spread out as the spots on MLK are slowly disappearing. Hell, Texas Roadhouse is supposed to extend off of Best Buy there.

Property values in Houma, in general, are insane right now.

Yes they are and it has caused some rethinking. I think Walk Ons may have pushed back Houma with their BR opening going on. Us and Twin Peaks were extremely lucky to get what we did. There are only a couple spots ready to build on, no vacant buildings I believe, and just raw land.

St. Charles should be one of the areas that starts blowing up a bit in the next few years. I haven't heard too much except that a sushi conveyor belt place was coming. Zea's hasn't gotten their shite together either.

5 guys is okay. Better than anything Houma has for sure. Their fries are dam good. But their burgers are more about the fat oozing grease balls than the actual meat. Much better burger joints, IMO. If you ever hear talks of a Burger 21 opening up, then you'll be in for a great burger joint.

I've heard the same rumor re Five Guys - we should know soon as there has been a lot of renovation activity of late.

FWIW - The best burger in Houma can currently be had at none other than Ellendale Country Club, although it is not exactly convenient if you live in Summerfield/SugarMill area, or are not a member.

The other building on St. Charles nearing completion (Mark McChargue is builder) is some Mexican joint. I too expect St. Charles to continue to have more dining offerings.

I only get a club sandwich at Ellendale, they've got my favorite

Mexican joint on St Charles is supposed to be a La Carreta as far as I know.

New restaurant development disappointingly slow...
La Carreta nice pick up.. A little upset that downtown developer dropped his plans for a mellow mushroom on corner of Lafayette and main.

You seem to be the authority on Houma so a question for you. What is the name of the donut business opening a store in BR and when do they expect to open the doors?
