i was listening to a national talk show this morning while jogging, forget which one, but anyways a louisville fan called in and said that strong is notorious for hiring his buddies and black coaches to give them opportunities.

for instance, most of his assistants are black and guys that he has been buddies with forever.

first off thats a double standard, if a white coach said that he only wanted to hire his white coach friends to give them opportunity he would be fired the next day, but also i dont want my coach hiring his friends or just because they are black. dude makes 5 million a year to assemble the best possible staff he can to be successful, just rubbed me the wrong way that he plays that card

thoughts?

For goodness sakes they all do that. That happens in business. It's called networking.
Look at Mac Brown's staff over the years.

So if any random racist calls up, then it must be true...

What was his results? Why do you know with such certainty that having an unknown white guy would have produced better results? Why do results not matter to you in this regard?

I think he was referring to the buddies part, not the race part. But I'm not sure

Stupid thread. Being able to hire your buddies(guys who you have previously coached with) is a great thing. It means you have been a part of great coaching staffs and have worked with qualified coaches

That was probable the tipping point for him over Franklin who hasn't been a part of nearly as many successful teams.

If it was a white coach doing that with white coaches....people would say "so what I don't care what color he is, even it he's purple, as long as he wins" and look at the results.
