I searched and there was a recent thread that was mostly Berman nicknames.

I'm old enough that I have followed Berman his entire ESPN career. I enjoyed him early on, but over the years I think his act has grown old. He has failed miserably at his play-by-play attempts and his analysis and opinions are just about as bad.

Am I in the minority or majority with my thoughts?

What say you?

He's awful. Always has been. I pity people who enjoy him.

He's the real life version of Ted Baxter. I have no idea why ESPN keeps him around. Contempt for viewers, perhaps? If I ran the network, Berman, Lou Holtz and Skip Bayless would be fired in a swift, brutal and humiliating fashion.

Keep him, the guy knows his stuff but gets paid to act a fool. He caught lightening in a bottle with the nick name thing and now ESPN tries to get EVERY host/announcer to come up with something clever.

I used to like him as well as the whole NFL ESPN crew, not anymore though.

They've hired too many people and chemistry is clearly lacking. There's a sense of constant tension on the set IMO. Berman tries to carry the show and he's pretty terrible at that.

Tom Jackson is my favorite but he's been drowned out by others. He appears visibly upset/stressed out about how he gets used now.

No.

Eisen is the best NFL panel show host. Berman has the better cast.

This, I used to love him in the 80's and early 90's, the nicknames were funny at first. But somewhere he got too big and full of himself. There was an ESPN Commercial with a NASCAR driver and I think Linda Cohn where they run out to the parking lot and his race car is being towed because he parked in Berman's spot. I think that sums it up well. He's a giant douche that can't retire soon enough.
