Geez, how many jocks does ESPN have on their payroll as NFL analysts.

The parade is seemingly endless.

I for one am tired of former football Player analysts. Give me pencil necked journalist geeks who are obsessed with football but just didn't have the physical gifts to play. There are very few former players worth a damn. It's a shame it's ne arly impossible to get a Broadcasting job if you aren't a former athlete or coach. The only one who seems to offer truly insightful analysis from experience is Gruden and Dilfer. Young is good but that's due more to his intelligence than him relating it to his playing days.

Well, being an analyst is a labor of love...

I'm no Cosell fan. He had maybe the biggest egos ever and if you ever read his book was very mean-spirited.

But that was a big gripe of his. He would always say if the jocks could figure it out it probably ain't that hard to analyze.

Just watching Merril Hoge and Trent Dilfer break it down kinda makes me shake my head.
