No. I think college is terrible that you can just tackle a guy if you think you are beat on a long pass.

The rule is the right way to do it.

Might want to post this on a few more boards since you didn't like the reception on the saints board.

I just wanted to bring it over here to get a non saints view on it. that play obvious changes people's view of it

I just wish the NFL and college would use the same rule.
I don't care which they use, just use the same.

id rather legit pass int be called. that clearly wasnt pass int. he looked back for the ball and the wr ran thru the db. what else was he supposed to do? get out of the way so he could catch the ball?

Just because it was a strategic effort to get the PI call doesn't mean it wasn't PI. He very well may have caught it if not for the interference.

I go back and forth on this rule...can't decide.
Posted on 1/4/14 at 10:19 pm to catholictigerfan
Yes.
It's way too big of a penalty and tough for refs to get right on these really long passes.
Should be 15 yards.

I like the longer penalties buy I feel like it should cap at like 30 yards. I hate it when teams get 60 free yards on a low percentage play.

it was a bullshite call.

I personally think that if the DB gets beat and chooses to PI by basically tackling the receiver he should have that ability and it should be a 15 yd penalty. Call it a personal foul and 2 personal fouls = ejection

nope its a good rule
