The Iowa fans are bitching about LSU and the SEC doing this.

Apparently, SEC schools can sign more players than other conferences and cut players who aren't performing on the field.

It's not LSU's fault so many players have the want to play for Leslie

I believe there are rules to prevent over signing now and they were first proposed and put in place by the SEC

the SEC implemented rules after the black eye, but schools get around them

conferences like the Big10 have had rules like that in place for a long time

Maybe by one player every few years or so. Almost impossible not to sometimes. You never know if a player will stick until they sign the LOI. Coaches have to keep their options open.

They just look for excuses since the Big 10 isn't shite anymore. They don't like that the SEC has wrecked shop this past decade. So they cling to any little thing that can help their confidence.

the reason porter didn't have a schollie is b/c the NCAA clearinghouse told LSU that brad wing would not have his credits from Australia count, so he remained a commit but everyone knew it was just on paper

...then they cleared him and LSU was left scrambling. elliot porter was asked to greyshirt so that we could keep both, and elliot porter got mad (understandably) and went to UK

CBS does an analysis after signing day each year. Last year 17 schools "oversigned". Alabama was #1, but of the top 10, 3 were SEC schools, 3 were B1G schools, 2 Pac12, 1 ACC and Notre Dame.

We 'process' players more in the SEC than other conferences which allows us to take the full 25 every recruiting class. A large advantage that other conferences generally don't take advantage of.

Hit them with this. Players signed in the past 4 years.

2013 LSU 27 - Iowa 23
2012 LSU 25 - Iowa 24
2011 LSU 23 - Iowa 27
2010 LSU 27 - Iowa 31

Total LSU 102 - Iowa 105

We need to back to the days of Tom Osborne at Nebraska, to explain his tactics...

They made a big deal about Elliot porter. Where is the piece on how he's our starting center?

We over signed once under Les. Some guys made the grades the staff didn't expect. People would bitch more if kids didn't make the grades and we had no back up plan.

Id have to go back and look, but other guys made the grades late that we valued higher. There were a couple that didn't even sign. Blackmon I think is one, wasn't that also the same year as Zach Lee?
