Louisville is a bad/mediocre football program. Thing is people who don't know much about them only know of the five seasons they were any good.

They've won 9+ games in 8 of the last 14 seasons. Take out the Kragthorpe disaster and it's 8 of the last 11. Their history from 30 years ago has nothing to do with where they are at now.

I dont think its a lateral move, i just dont think its a big enough job to be worth it to Cutcliff

If the League called or Texas had, hed probably listen, but Louisville? He worked up all those years at Duke just to take a steeping stone job that hell never get to use because of his age? I just dont see where his appeal for the job would be

my perception is Cut is at the point in his life where stability and stress may be more important than trying to climb to the top of the coaching tree. Louisville is the better football job but I'm not sure Cut wants to move

Cut will have an easier time getting to the ACC CG at duke than Louisville because dukes side of the division is currently much weaker and Louisville will be in FSU and Clemson's division.

Louisville would be smart to hire Morris. Would be a home run hire and, in the process would substantially weaken a new division foe in clemson.

This was the case when he was at Ole Miss. If the Chancellor and AD (both former Ole Miss football players) hadn't gotten greedy, or tried to micromanage him, they could have had Cutcliffe as their coach for life. He would have stayed loyal to that school. The fact that they ran him off for just one rebuilding year (immediately after Eli left) was criminal.

Ding, ding, ding!
Cutcliffe has a good thing going at Duke, from a quality of life standpoint. Low expectations in a great area of the country. And I think now that he's had a little success, recruiting will get easier. If Stanford, Vanderbilt and Northwestern can have good football programs, Duke should be able to do the same.

Not arguing Duke being better than UL, just if it's worth his hassle rebuilding. If he's gonna leave he may as well wait for a better option because I think he can. I have been to UL, it's just not at all that impressive.

I'd probably stay at Duke over Louisville if it was me.

Didn't Cutcliffe also have heart issues? I would think he is quite happy at Duke, and has already done more than anyone could hope to accomplish there, with less pressure...
