Louisville has WAY more upside than Duke.

I can't say. I'd have to take a closer look at Duke's roster tbh. But they are not on equal ground. One is easier to win at than the other for the long term.

Azzanni interviewed for GA. Southern head job. Bajakian for Bowling Green.

I do not really like our offensive staff at all, but continuity is probably more important right now than the possibility of an upgrade.

I dont think it's as much as people think. They don't have Teddy now, not a terribly talented roster, campus is shite, stadium is meh...idk. Seems like a pain in the arse for ol' cutcliffe.

One has played in multiple BCS games and has a commitment to football and the other is Duke.

Yea but they did that in the Big East. Idk, I just don't see UL being that tempting for the old man

Oh sorry, i should have clarified, I don't think Cutcliffe will leave. I just think from an outsiders perspective Louisville is a better job.

UL is paying Strong $3.7 million while Duke is paying Cutcliffe $1.3 million.

He could go there and be mediocre enough he gets canned in 4 years while still making more than he would at Duke in 7.

Chad Morris has an insane buyout clause in his contract for lateral moves (offensive coordinator jobs).

His next move is a head coach job.

Louisville would be a lateral move from one basketball school to another. I don't think he goes. Not at this point in his life.

Not a lateral move but the position he's in at Duke is a nice one. He's a hero there now. Probably not a lot of pressure to be a contender every year and ride out in the sunset when you are ready.
I see the smarts of taking the big money for 4 years as a previous poster said.

That I agree with. He's happy at Duke and they love him there.

I wish he would stay and continue to build at Duke.

Louisville can double Cutcliffe's salary and still be paying him $1 million less than they are currently paying Strong.

It is flat out wrong to call it a lateral move.

From fan/admin support to facilities to pay UL is an upgrade in every way.

not a lateral move at all. Louisville's AD Jurich is committed to having winning programs, so he's a big step up AD wise for cutcliffe.

and i mention that bc of the support that the UL coach would receive from the AD, which is the most important thing.
