Just a thought - could the Judge decide if Jeremy Hill turns pro. Is he still on probation?

What is the status of Hill's probation and the time involved, is the period over? That's what he wants to know. Those of us out-of-state don't get local news, just TD. Let us know. Thanks.

I like your thinking. Kind of like the Seinfield episode where Jerry got in a wreck and the culprits sentence was to be his butler.

My thoughts exactly. But it's actually what George proposes to be the premise of his and Jerry's NBC sitcom pilot episode.

I think if your on Probation you have to get approval to leave the State. If the Judge does give approval you cannot leave the State.

Can you leave the state on probation without permission?

I assume they would work something out, but in most cases?

Also could wanting a clean legal slate when he enters the draft be a reason to stay?

Lots of childish replies to the OP.

It is a good question, one that has not been answered.

I do not think he was suggesting that he could not go pro, but rather how would his legal troubles be handled. Does he even need the court's permission?

Hill would need to petition the judge to allow him to transfer his probation to another jurisdiction. There will be some sort of hearing (depends on the EBR local court rules) and the judge will have a series of questions for the Probation Officer: Is he current with visits to PO, have the fines and court cost been paid, results of random drug screens, any issues, good candidate for transfer, recommendation etc. Judge may have some questions for Hill but normally they base their decision on what the PO says since the PO is closest to the situation, but the judge makes the decision. From what I have heard Hill has been a model probationer.
