Despite their road record, the Saints aren't as bad as some think

They have 5 road losses. 2 came on last second drives against both 2 seeds in the playoffs. Another came off key missed FGs against the Jets.

Clearly, they arent as good statistically on offense and turnovers have been killers in several of the losses, but it's not as dire as some make it out to be.

3 of the 5 were by combined 13 points if I recall also....but, you are correct. Not nearly as bad as people make it out to be.

The Saints might not be.

Drew Brees is.

The only reason Brees has been bad on the road is cause he forces the ball to Graham. If we play as a open offense and not Jimmy and Darren show I don't think anyone wants to play us.

Brees has been mediocre on the road all season. He presses and just makes a ton of bone headed plays. Tons of turnovers and holding the ball way too long.

Honest our road struggles start and end with Brees.

I'm pretty sure Drew brees has the best road record of any QB over the past 4 years. The struggles on the road this year have to do with our sub-par offensive line being matched up against athletic pass rushes. Not to mention Brees put us in position to beat both the patriots and the panthers on the road. The defense simply couldn't get a stop when we needed it the most.

The Rams beat their arse pretty soundly the majority of the game with a mini-rally not happening until the 4th quarter and that was in a dome. It's definitely dire.

I agree, we aren't as bad as some say. However, as of right now, the monkey's on our back and there's only one way to get it off. We gotta win.

You could point to many factors like crowd noise, hostile environments, o-line play, lack of running game, play calling, predictability or Drew's oops a game (limit: 1 per game). I think that it's our personnel packages on the road that cause us to have problems. I just wish SP would pick a grouping and leave them in for a predetermined set of plays, and if something is working stick with it. Then after a couple of plays or so switch the personnel and stick with that grouping for a while and so on.
