Old school Nintendo on a Wii? Can it be done? How?

My kid is hooked on Mike Tyson punch out. He plays bad flash games on his pc. Can old school Nintendo games be emulated on Wii with a mod?

You can buy a lot of them on the Nintendo virtual console

Like the previous poster said, you can purchase them.
Just buy "wii points" (I think it's called), and you can buy most of the popular old titles for NES, SNES and N64. I want to say, the last time I checked it was
$8 for NES games
$10 for SNES games
$12 for N64 games
I'm not sure how accurate that is as of today though.
ETA: All of this can be done through your Wii (with a wifi connection)

If you mean hacked, then no. If it has been hacked, no reason to not just download the VC games.

Don't need a mod and yes from the VC, just pay and download. Lots of these games will require you have the classic or pro wii controllers though

I have a modded wii. It can be done. You can add games not in the virtual store.
I have the real mike Tyson punch out as well as the three TMNT games.

How do I add it? Will the machine get banned if I connect and buy it? Or should I lurk in the red light district on the interwebz

are you talking about a Wii or a WiiU?
You can hack a Wii but I don't think its happened with a WiiU yet.

you won't get banned for doing it but Nintendo might erase it off your hard drive via an update though I have no idea if they are still releasing original Wii updates.

Just google it. After I modded my wii I was still able to go to the Nintendo store. Just can't do their updates anymore.

It's a wii not wiiu. It's been 3 years since its been modded and updated. Never knew they had the Nintendo store

Yep, that's pretty much it. Nintendo, especially on the Wii, did not give a single frick about their network or the machines connected to it.

Pointless. I have every NES, SNES, N64 game on my pc. Get the Emulators and you can lug a corded xbox remote into a usb on your laptop
