Needs to be in the starting lineup.

He's much better than Eric Gordon and actually tries when he's out there. Love how hard he works on the offensive boards.

If this kid could develop a jump shot, he'd be great. Great body control and an excellent athletisicm.

I actually agree

Aminu gets a bad rap on here, imo

Yea, he's not Reggie Miller out there guys, but he has a pretty unique skill set and works hard (sometimes)

And he's about the only guy other than Davis that has any real WOW factor around the basket. And that counts for something

Exactly. We have enough scorers out there already. We don't need him for his offensive game, we need him for his rebounding ability, athletisicm, defensive, and finishing skills.

Why have a shooter out there when we have Anderson, Holiday, Davis, and Evans?

Aminu kills us at times bc teams put worst defender on him and put a better defender on ryno.

He is improving but he is still a liability.

He needs to watch an African child being executed every time he takes a jumper.

Yes, he makes us worse offensively, but doesn't Anderson make us worse defensively?

It's good to have balance on the team. (And in no way am I saying AFA is better than Ryno).

I think AFA deserves at least 20-25 min a night. We need his boards and length on the court.

He plays 25 mpg

Does it matter if he starts?

I should have said more PT, not start. I apologize.

Monty is weird and will only play him 10 min some games.

Can we quantify how good of a defender he is? Or are we too quick to crown bad offensive players at being better at defense just because?

Not arguing with you, just curious.

Monty has always been weird about minutes, even to guys like Evans and AD

Aminu starts all the time. He started @Minn if I'm not mistaken?

I went about starting this thread the wrong way. My apologies.

What I'm saying is, this guy needs to be on the floor. Our 5 players who need to get the most PT are Jrue, Brow, Ryno, AFA, and Evans. I think these 5 on the court is when we are most effective.

I know that he starts, and I know that he doesn't play the 2 guard.

People are doing to complain about DWS, but I think trying to track how players he guards fare per minute compared to their per minute average in terms of scores, rebounds, etc. would be a way to do it that would give something meaning to talk about, but that seems like a good deal of work.

Aminu seems to draw difficult assignments. This could mean that the top scorers are often naturally at his position, or it could mean that Monty believes him to be a good defender, or it could mean something else entirely.

I think he's a good on ball defender; off the ball , he seems run of the mill.

Jesus Christ the bias against Gordon has transformed itself into downright delusion.

Aminu better than Gordon? Al-Faroug Aminu?

Anybody who thinks Aminu is good is falling victim to the Lake Wobegon effect. Every player can't be above average. Some players suck. Aminu is one of those players.

That said, I prefer him to some of the other garbage on the roster.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...

All Aminu has to do is realize his capabilities. He's a solid-to-good defender with length and is an elite (no hyperbole intended) rebounder for his position. His role on offense is and should always be to clean the garbage around the rim for putbacks or to restart the offense.

In his best games as a Hornet/Pel, he stayed with in himself. His worst games, he thinks he has a 16 foot jumper and it killed many a offensive possession.

Agreed. That is how he maximizes HIS potential and for this team, we can use that since we have no better options. He should not be seeing significant minutes in the NBA though.

He would be a pretty valuable defender/rebounder for a playoff team.
