Another iPhone messaging Question

How do I keep recent messages (mainly group) from popping up when I start another message. For some reason I get all my wife's (no pics) recent group recipients. Not the message just the names and or numbers?

Mine doesnt do that. When I click a new message it shows a blank template and then I click the + to add recipients from my contacts list

EX. When I click on say the letter "C" to type a message to "Coolio" It will list all the recents "C's" that I have texted and my wife has texted. Some names I don't even have in my contact list, they are in my wife's contact list. Including all the group messages she has started with a person who has "C" in the first or last name.
