A decade ago, $300 was a decent price, but $350-$400 was not uncommon. $250 was about the bottom $ on an ounce. Factor in inflation and $400 an ounce today isn't that ridiculous.

Thanks Obama

As long as we're making shite up.....

The druggies also said that legalization would end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and get the ball rolling on a Led Zeppelin reunion tour!! Guess you were wrong again stoners!

You're doing one of two things, you're either making it up or you're cherry-picking one asinine argument out of a sea of good ones.

Either way it's dumb.

If you're really going to argue against legalization then at least try and argue against valid points.

I'm doing neither. Sorry if your jimmies are rustled.

There have been numerous threads on the O-T and the Poli Board where the drug users have repeatedly claimed legalization would bring down the cost of illegal drugs. Those were not isolated posts.

I don't venture over to the poli board too often but I do frequent the pot threads here (usually with some stupid joke about Christian values) and I've never seen anyone say that it would cause prices to drop. I've also never seen a coherent argument against an adult's right to use this kind of stuff. What I have seen are a bunch of jackasses making straw-man arguments like the one in your first post.

Do you, as a champion financial guru, believe that prices will drop after the initial onslaught of purchases?

After the novelty of the product dies down, will prices drop?

Markets, adjustments, etc etc.

Real demand for the stuff was most likely strongly influenced by the illegal nature of it prior. Growers will make a killing until supply grows to meet or more likely exceed demand.

You know, economics and stuff.

You need to expand your reading horizons.

You obviously don't comprehend the definition of 'straw man argument.'

For those of us who don't smoke, how much is an ounce? I mean is that like a case of beer, a keg, a fifth?

Well those posts are not incorrect, in theory. From a macro-level perspective, legalization would mean cheaper "illegal" pot, and more expensive "legal" pot. It's pretty basic, and this news falls right in line with it.
