Thought the minds of the OT might find this interesting, but it might should go on the Money Board.

Local real estate attorney Bryan G. Jeansonne kicked off the new year with a new way of doing business. On Wednesday, Jeansonne's firm, Dore Jeansonne, began accepting the digital currency Bitcoin as a method of payment
quote:
"A lot of people find it easier to use than regular currency," says Jeansonne.
Jeansonne says for his clients there are a couple of potential advantages to using the digital currency. "There are a lot fewer fees than payment processing companies like Paypal or even some credit card companies," he says. "It's also more stable than the currencies in some countries, so some international clients may want to use it for that reason." At the moment Dore Jeansonne has no foreign clients, though it has in the past, but Jeansonne says he is intrigued by the technology and that it would be worth trying out. "No one has paid us with it yet but it's only been a couple of days," he says. "We'll see how it goes."

Great idea if he defends drug addicts and child porn aficionados.
Seriously....
Isn't this like accepting payment in gold coins or barter.

Ding ding ding...very obvious attention grab. I love the reference to international clients when he has none. Also, he gets legal fees via paypal?

Great advertising idea. Nobody will ever offer him any bitcoins so this is basically just free media exposure.

Will be interesting to see how he handles the payments. I imagine the Bar Assc would want you to convert it to USD immediately so that it could be placed in an trust account.
