Let's face it. LSU has no hold on New Orleans

Leonard Fournette aside obviously.
I think that has been evident for a good amount of years. How many star studded nola kids have we pulled in?

Hill - and that took some absurd effort from the greatest coach of all time in nick saban
Beckham was an LSU legacy.
Seriously, those inner city kids have absolutely no loyalty to LSU or the state at all. Once LSU starts to win again and has the swagger back, they will start to recognize wanting to rep the state again.

Speaks will be like Courtney Upshaw for Bama. He is big, fast and mean. He doesn't get the love of Willis because he plays in an inner-city Jackson Public School, but he will be an absolute animal in college. I would much rather he be a Tiger than playing for OM.

But to speak directly to your OP...
No, we don't have NOLA locked down. Nor Monroe. Nor the Shreveport area. The "fence is down!"; good, take advantage of it. The NOLA kids were recruited hard. They not only went elsewhere, but to teams on our schedule.
LSU has 3-5*'s, 1 from the Boot, 1 from TX, 1 from Illinois. If we get anymore, they will not be from LA. It is what it is, we can't change it other than going dirty. So adapt.

That seemed to be a crutch everyone stood on this entire season. Safe to say, that isn't the case and history tells me it never has been, and probably never will.
