we are just about okay with having a group of gay prostitutes getting married at a weed casino.

what's the next issue to trail blaze and be the front runner of "liberty"?

tried to tell yall years ago to make Louisiana the first to legalize

we ALL knew it was coming, but no one wanted to take the first step....

so what's the new thing LA can be the front runner in and not just the 49th or 50th in?

well they just did that in utah, so we are behind

what about an "Equal Rights" amendment for Louisiana called the Equal 50.

Louisianians do hereby acknowledge, as a tourism based State, that if it's legal in your state, then it's legal here.

Boom, anyone tries to be a leader, we're right there, neck and redneck with them.

I love the slippery slope argument.

"Well if ya let blacks vote, next thing ya know they'll wanna ride the school bus with yer kids!"

Society moves forward. Things change. Old people aren't always comfortable with it.

Just change for change sake right? How did that work out with Obama? Not all change is good.

We should never have to hear of a husband charged with sexual assault or rape against his wife. Can we break this barrier?

What do you "love" about it? Do you deny it? Radicals are going to be radical. They simply "move forward" to the next radical thing.

Are you really making the argument that all changes are good? Are you making the argument that since slavery/racism is bad, everything from the past must be bad and must change?

Well then why don't you give us some examples where liberals said "You know, we have gone far enough here, let's just stop increasing spending or let's not allow the next step of depravity because it is just too much."

Go read daily kos or DU and see what they want if they got everything they want.

Some as you mock older people for their retisance to change, but I think the younger generation has been programmed to think change is always better. Every 6 months your smart phones are upgraded. Same with your computer operating systems, gaming systems, software, etc. Ask Coke if change is always good.

Realistically? Prostitution needs to be made legal nationwide.

You know, I bet lots of Russians thought the same in the 1920's. I bet lots of Germans thought the same in the 1930's.

In the early 1900s there were historians, economists, and political leaders who believed that European society had become too sophisticated and interdependent to become engaged in another major war.

I would be willing to bet that you think a major war hasn't occurred since WWII because we've become too "sophisticated" and "progressive" as a human society to engage in one.

This era in which we are living that you think of as "moving forward" is just a tiny slice of human history. Let's see how things pan out in 30, 50, or 100 years based on the direction we're headed.

Society definately moves, but is it forward? If we continue to care more about multicultural education as opposed to mathematics, science, and economics where do we end up? If we don't teach our children to be critical thinkers and they don't question what they are told by the government and media, it is not a good thing.

Imagine Obama running on the following platform in the summer / fall of 2012:

- You won't be able to keep your insurance, and you might not be able to keep your doctor. If you're middle class and have health insurance, you'll be paying for the insurance of the less fortunate, and your coverage will suffer.

- As far as foreign policy, we are going to let the middle east become completely de-stabilized. We were caught with our pants down on Bhengazi and we were attacked by terrorists. We will need to continue to spend more on the military.

- Because we are at a stalemate on the war on terror, we will need to have warrantless access to every electronic communication from every american. You have too much privacy.

- The american people have too much free speech. I think we need to silence political opposition and we'll use the IRS to do so.

- Because of all of this, we'll continue to set debt records and continue to spend.

- I'm not really concerned about the employment of americans, and specifically not concerned about the employment rate of minorities. My administrations economic policies won't change and all people will continue to have difficulty finding work.

Wow Didn't take long before the Obama argument somehow showed up.

Kudos.

Clear me up if I'm factually inaccurate, but wasn't his campaign slogan," Hope and Change?"

Then for his second term," Change you can believe in?"

Differential treatment for the "rights" of fat and obese people. Lawsuits alleging employer discrimination against fat people; Claims of discrimination for fat people not being allowed to be members of school dance teams, etc.; Disability benefits being paid to the obese when obesity is declared a "disease" just like cancer, Lupus, etc. They're going to come sooner rather than later

Change is the law of life. You either move with it, and make it constructive change, or you resist it at your own peril. The advancement of human rights is not a threat to anyone on this board. The suppression of them, however, would likely mean the government being more restrictive to YOUR rights.
