When Glenn Greenwald speaks school is in session and you'd best listen up. Don't agree with him on everything but on this stuff I'm on the same page. I respect that he called out Bush for this stuff and didn't let up when Obama got into office.

We've got to get rid of the Patriot Act. That would be a good start

Could there be a bigger drama queen than Glenn Greenwald?
Maybe Jeremy Scahill

I'm sure you found the NSA terribly offensive back in 2006 along with Biden, you Obama apologist.

Has nothing to do with his sexuality as far as I'm concerned

They were conducting warantless surveillance back then. FISA Amendments Act then passed. Surveillance has since been conducted within the appropriate legal frameworks. Compliance incidents get reported to the appropriate authorites and changes are made as needed. It was working fairly well before Snowden took it upon himself to burn it all.

It was illegal until the gov passed a law with secret courts and secret rules to make it legal...that's fricking awesome.
Does burning it down mean letting all the citizens in a democratic republic know that their is a giant general dragnet collecting their phone data without their consent under a secret law that they were never made aware of under the supervision of secret courts they didn't know about? If so then burn all of that down.

FISC has been around for decades
The Bush Admin was operating outside of FISA and without warrants. Warrants are now required for USP targeted surveillance as defined by the Act.
Maybe if you learned more about the legal framework you would be less upset

Same assholes that were digging up shite on ex wives and girlfriends self report their illegal activity.

Or there isn't a legal framework which could excuse this secret intrusion...seriously you act as if some law rendered by the state permitting it to violate my rights makes it ok. But it's especially offensive that it was secretly "legal".
