In the past few days the dsl starting acting up. Originally thought it was the router because its old. Replaced it, but still get the same crap.

Im getting DNS issues, usually everything will work fine for like 30-40 minutes and then it craps out with a DNS issue. The only way Ive found to fix it, is to power cycle both the modem and the router.

I tried setting it up to use static DNS from google, but my networking skills have pretty much been forgotten.

Any ideas? Especially before I sit on the phone with att for 3 hours power cycling everything again.

Glad I got that post in, a whole 10 minutes this time. Luckily, I can do most things from my phone.

Call in to Anandi Pahryanyappi and he will take you thru the power down, power up cycle, and run a test on your line up to the network interface box on your house, I had similar issues with intermittent outages (20 a day) and the technician found water in a cable 4300 feet from my house. Once they fixed that, barely an issue here.

Will do. It could certainly be a water issue, the ground here is freaking saturated. Can't even walk in it without getting soaked.
