If we do not get ducks from this front we will never get them.

Was in Arkie right after Christmas and seen many thousands of Mallards loafing off the side of the road in some NWR. Think it was Cache River. They are definitely within striking distance of LA. However, the only thing that is gonna make them birds move is for the fields to lock down for multiple days.

I am headed to Stuttgart area next weekend (10th-12th) and it looks like its going to be a washout. 80% chance rain Fri-Sun

Although I take a 10 day forecast with a grain of salt, so I will hope for the best.

I hope it's not a wash out, that may be my only remaining chance to go deer hunting.

Agree. We need everything in Ark to lockup.

A couple of the best hunts I've ever been on was in the pouring rain.

Man up.

Agreed. Rain covers your scent and reduces their ability to hear you as well. Go shoot you a monster in the rain!

Dont worry, I will be out there with my 85 year old pow pow.

It is either -

A. Sit in the field in the rain, peace and quiet, sling some shells.

B. Sit at my mow mows house with the rest of the family pass my kid around like a good jernt.

I choose A every time, any conditions outside.

ETA: I will be feather frickin, not deer hunting.

IMO, here in SE La, it's been plenty cold already many many times.....ice storms in midwest and all. My area still has virtually no ducks and I don't see them coming this year. Today didn't even SEE a gray or a teal, usually our bread and butter. We have more mallards and redheads than usual but that's about it. Pretty much writing this one off

Up to last season we always had plenty of grays and teal so not like there's a trend here. I do believe (and hope!!) that things will get back to usual next season. good luck guys
