In Louisiana. I don't care to hear about how cold it got in Alaska or North Dakota.

Here in the mid 80s in B'ham, I remember it being single digits for near a week.

Had a big old mercury thermometer on a fence post and the temperature dropped so fast, it drove that post a foot deeper into the ground.

I remember a two or three day freeze that hit us back in the late '70's. Had to go out to Exxon on emergency call out to help repair busted water piping in the pipe racks. Stay in the bus most of the night!!

I was a kid in Shreveport and remember the year the red river froze. It was 82 or 83. They said it was only the 2nd time in history.

It didn't get above freezing for several days.

When the street car on St. Charles was covered with snow. This was a few years ago and must have been in the teens.

Good God people... The lowest forecast low for the Baton Rouge area is 21. I'm not that old (in my opinion) and already I can remember a time when it was 14 one morning.
21 is cold but nothing to freak out over. I have family in Illinois about to endure 11 inches of snow with -8 degree highs.

Coldest I can remember. Then again I was 4 and only remember the snowfall and not the actual temp.

Same month the low was -1 in Dallas on the 23rd (the day we buried Mom; it was too cold for a graveside service).
